GENETICS: Co-Dominant
First bred by Eric Davies in the UK in 2002. The Black Eyed leucistic Ball Python is the homozygous form of the Fire Ball |
 |
GENETICS: Simple Recessive
First produced in the late 1990's by Dave & Tracey Barker of VPI. Axanthic Royal Pythons lack all yellow pigment which essentially leaves us with a snake in shades of grey and black. Axanthics are an ingredient of Snows (Albino Axanthic) as well as several other morphs in the hobby. |

GENETICS: Simple Recessive
A stunning snake
with a white background and yellow markings. A million
miles away from the black, brown & tan markings of
the normal wild type. Albino ball pythons can also be
described as amelanistic, (lacking melanin), this is
a simple recessive gene. The first Albino Ball Pythons
were bred by Bob Clarke in the USA. A wild caught albino
male from Ghana was purchased in 1989 as a juvenile this
was grown up and bred to several females in 1990 to produce
heterozygous animals. These were then bred back to one
another in 1990 when the first albino's emerged from
a clutch that had been maternally incubated.

GENETICS: Simple Recessive
These are the GENETIC STRIPE not as sometimes seen in Captive farmed animals an anomalous striped animal caused possibly by incubation temperatures, these breed true.
The first ever Genetic Stripe entered the hobby in 1989, it wasn't until 1999 that we saw the first captive breeding of this morph, when Dave & Tracey Barker produced some from a clutch of heterozygous animals originally brought from Bob Clarke. |
 |
GENETICS: Dominant
First produced 5 years ago in 2003 by Ralph Davis. Granite Royal Pythons have a speckled appearance. They have been the ingredient in many other morphs including Ebony (Granite X Yellow Belly) & Granite Mojave. |
 |
GENETICS: Co-Dominant
Lesser Plattys are the result of crossing a normal to a Platty, approx half of the clutch will be lessers with this mating. First produced by Ralph Davis. Because Lesser Platty is a Co-Dominant gene there is a Super version when two are bred together, this Super morph is a stunning Blue Eyed Leucistic. The Lesser Platty gene has also been combined with several others to produce Lesser Platty Spiders, Ghosts & Pastels to name a few. |
 |
GENETICS: Co-Dominant
The first produced Mojaves were done by Dan & Colette Sutherland from Snake Keeper in 2000.
The super version of the Mojave is the Blue Eyed Leucistic which was first produced by Vin Russo of Cutting Edge Herps in 2002.
The Mojave morph was named after a desert which was close to the original producers home.
Mojave Royal Pythons have also been combined with several other morphs including spider, ghost & granite.

 |
GENETICS: Co-Dominant
The first Pastels were produced by Kevin McCurley in 1997 and the gene was proven Co-Dominant by Graziani Reptiles.
There are several lines of Pastel, Graziani Pastel, Lemon pastel, Enchi Pastel to name a few each has been bred to enhance certain traits.
The Super form is the Super Pastel. Pastels have been combined with several other morphs including, Clown, Ghost, Mojave, Pinstripe to name a few.

GENETICS: Simple Recessive
Ghosts are Hypomelanistic Royals which were first produced by Kevin McCurley of Nerd in 1994.
Ghosts have been selectively bred to enhance certain colours eg: Orange, Green & Yellows.
They have been bred with several other morphs including Spider to produce the Honeybee Spiders, Pastels, Albino & Pinstripe. |

GENETICS: Unknown ?
The IMG gene is responsible for the increased black pigment as these snakes mature but also a lightening of the colours in it's sides. At present the inheritance of this gene is unknown

 |
GENETICS: Simple Recessive
Pieds are very variable in appearance with varying amounts of white pigment. A simple recessive mutation that was first produced by Peter Kahl in 1997. Pied Royals have been combined with other mutations such as Pastels & Albinos . Pieds are one of the most sought after morphs because of there stunning appearance. |
 |
GENETICS: Unknown ? Co-Dominant ?
First produced in 2000 by Kevin McCurley of NERD. Ringers have a diminished white patch near the vent, sometimes referred to as the poor mans Pied. The potential to prove this mutation out with other morphs is one of the main reasons why this morph is so popular. Ringers have popped up in random clutches and are also seen in shipments of Captive Farmed Imports. |
 |
GENETICS: Co-Dominant
First produced by Kevin McCurley of NERD in 1999. This very highly sought after morph has been combined with several other mutations, beautiful in it's own right, some of the morphs produced by these are nothing short of Stunning, Fireball Spiders (Hypo Spider) Lesser Bees, Butter Bees. Bumble Bee Spiders (Pastel Spider), Spinners (Pinstripe Spider), Albino's the list goes on. A key ingredient in any breeding programme. |
 |
GENETICS: Co-Dominant
The Super of the Yellow Belly is the Ivory Royal, there is much unexplored genetic combinations with this morph.
They get there name because of the ventrals which are white or may have a yellowy cast to them and patternless and bordered on each side by a speckled pattern.
